Reverse Engineering Solutions
For more than 30 years Winslow has been at the forefront of mitigating obsolescence through the re-manufacture of legacy components.
We are fully at verse with the primary requirement to create form, fit and function articles that meet the material and surface treatment of those used in the original specification and testing. We are also fully at verse with the fact that some materials and treatments have themselves become obsolete, driven by both material and legislative advances, EU ReACH Regulations for example.
So the question of can you make this, will occasionally require a materials study beyond the scope of top level material and dimensional data. Winslow can carry out this study for you if the initial review of your data indicates an assessment is required.
Reverse Engineering involves reconstructing a design when a drawing doesn’t exist but a physical part does.
If materials data is also unavailable we can analyse the part to establish these missing facts, review for material advances and obsolescence and propose alternatives where conflicts are found.
The part is digitised using a 3D scanner to accuracies up to 5 microns and our Design Team feed this into CAD software to manipulate models in both 2 and 3 dimensions. The resulting drawings and models form the basis of manufacture to accurately replicate the original and produce a minimum order quantity of just one part using CNC Machining, 3D Printing, Plastic Moulding or Casting.
